BMW.digital and Group Websites

Driving forward the digital transformation

Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is the basis for the content management platforms BMW.digital and BMW Group websites.

Challenge

The BMW Group is the world's leading premium automobile manufacturer. Under the BMW, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and MINI brands, the BMW Group develops, produces and markets its products and also offers complementary financial and mobility services. BMW is represented worldwide and has a sales network in more than 140 countries and over 30 production sites in 14 countries.

Many markets, clients and language versions require a sophisticated and scalable content management strategy.

Implementation

Since 2016 eggs unimedia, as technical partner of the agency Interone, has been managing projects on the BMW.digital platform with two Scrum teams. On this platform, which is based on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), websites are operated with a primary brand and market focus.

Since 2018 eggs unimedia is now also managing selected websites of the BMW Group, including the corporate website, the websites of the BMW Group plants, BMW Welt, the global career portal and BMW Driving Experience. The contract includes the development of new functionalities, enhancement and consolidation of templates and components to improve content maintenance, adaptation to new browser versions, adjustments to GDPR and WCAG 2.0 requirements, implementation of analytics requirements, maintenance of the existing application, support and training. The collaboration model is based on Scrum.
